Generally speaking, the underwater conditions are similar year round.  Because Cano Island is located so far from the mainland, the rains don’t affect conditions as much as the currents do.  For currents, the best time of the month is usually the time around the quarter moon and the worst is around two to three days after a full or new moon.  That being said, the overall land and surface water conditions are best from December until September.  Mid September until mid November usually are the rainiest months with rougher surface conditions.

Yes, there is a very good chance to see white tipped reef sharks.  See our shark sighting guarantee.

No, they are exciting to see but certainly not dangerous as long as they are not harassed or as long as there is no spear fishing in the area.  Cano Island is a protected reserve and spear fishing is not allowed within the boundaries so as long as you do not harass them you should have no problems!

Costa Rica Adventure Divers is an independent PADI dive center located near the Jinetes de Osa Hotel, in Drake Bay.

Yes, we can usually do pickups from most hotels in the area.

First of all you can usually get all of your luggage on the plane but keep in mind the extra weight will be charged a  fee.  If you don’t feel like hauling all of your equipment we provide quality gear for rent.
